The Assessment

What makes the Personalysis Profile unique?

Personalysis was founded upon the belief that human beings are not either/or creatures. We can be outgoing sometimes and quiet at other times – or highly active and then thoughtful/contemplative. A simple trait or label doesn’t capture the richness inherent in personality. So, our founder, James Noland, created a different kind of personality assessment.

The Personalysis Profile uses a simple, straightforward framework to identify three distinct parts of personality to offer a picture of your personality in action. The Personalysis Profile will identify the behaviors you most prefer to use – and it tells you when you will use them. The Personalysis Profile captures the diversity within a personality. It offers a more complete view of you and gives a new whole-person perspective to personality.

What exactly does the Personalysis Profile reveal about a person?

All human beings share a common operating system: patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that make up their personalities. However, no two people are exactly alike; everyone has a unique collection of characteristics, drives, and motivations.

Personalysis offers you a way to better understand your personality and to identify your dynamic pattern of strengths and needs, which may be very different at times. It offers insights about where and when you have the most and least energy, helping you use your gifts to succeed both personally and professionally.

Why does the Personalysis Profile use colors?

The use of colors provides a quick and memorable way to describe your needs, strengths and behavior. Each color represents specific tendencies, drives, and natural motivations. Since individuals are made up of a combination of behaviors, we use color combinations as an easy way to describe the complexity of human personality.

(While each color trait is distinct, all colors are inherently equal in value. Attempting to rank the colors is like trying to rank the five senses. Each is important and valuable for its own sake. The best colors for you are the colors in your profile because they are the only colors that will work for you.)

What is the best profile?

There is no such thing as an objective ideal personality profile. The Personalysis Profile is a self reporting assessment. That means that there are no right or wrong answers. If you answer honestly, using what you know to be true about yourself, then the results should be perfect for you.

How should I use the information from the Personalysis Profile?

Personalysis helps individuals by facilitating strategic self-awareness. Understanding your underlying style traits and core motivation helps you learn to manage your strengths to increase personal and professional success.

To get the most out of the assessment results we encourage each assessment participant to:

• Meet with a Personalysis Coach to discuss the potential implications of the results.
• Reflect on the information gained through the assessment experience.
• Leverage that information to facilitate ongoing development.
• Share the information with co-workers or partnerships to enhance cooperation and true understanding.

I took the Personalysis Profile and I’m now curious to see if I’ve changed. Can I retake the assessment?

The choice to retake the assessment is yours. In trying to make that decision, here are a few recommendations. Review your original report. If you find that it still reflects what you know to be true about your behavior, then perhaps that will satisfy your curiosity. If you are uncertain, you may wish to review the results with your Personalysis Coach. If you are still curious about potential changes, contact us to retake the assessment.

Is the Assessment available in other languages?

The Personalysis Questionnaire is translated into multiple languages. You can select your language on the first page of the questionnaire. We recommend you take the assessment in your native language.

How is the Personalysis Profile used in business?

Can this information be used to identify a good job fit?

Personalysis identifies what a person finds challenging, exciting, and stimulating. When we match these aspects of personality with a job role, we will enjoy our occupation. In addition, Personalysis can help you assess the needs and expectations of the team you will be joining, and the manager who will support you.

Can personality really make that much difference to productivity in the workplace?

Effective people are generally more productive. Personality determines how you approach your work using your skills, education, intelligence, and experience. Knowledge of your core style strengths increases your self-awareness and provides you the opportunity to manage your style to be effective.

Leaders who know what it takes to manage the unique needs, expectations, and desires of each employee are more effective.

Associates who use their strengths appropriately, manage vulnerabilities, and leverage the strengths of others are more effective.

Why should I share my personal data with my co-workers?

The Personalysis information is objective and neutral. There are no good-or-bad, right-or-wrong profiles. Your Personalysis Facilitator will assist you and your co-workers to use this data to improve your working relationships.

Differences in personality styles are an asset when we know how to constructively use and value them. We work many long hours with co-workers. Spending this time with people who better understand you can enhance your working experience.

Can this information help me with conflict?

Yes, it can! The Personalysis information is graphically represented in colors, numbers, and shapes in the Personalysis Profile. So, you can literally see the differences between personality styles. This makes it easier to understand how others are different from you and why they do what they do.

Your Personalysis Facilitator can help you to create strategies to effectively deal with these differences. With Personalysis, you will discover how different styles can actually help you to be more effective. Conflicts are frequently avoided when we learn how to respect and cooperate with different personality styles.

Do I have to be certified to use your products?

Yes, our products require certification, and we recommend the help of a certified provider for the sale of every product if possible. Personalysis offers frequent certification classes on-line throughout the year. Get details here.

What should I know about taking the Assessment?

We encourage you to set aside 20-25 minutes to take the assessment. We recommend you finish the questionnaire in one sitting. However, if that is not possible, you can stop the process at any time. If stopped, your answers are automatically saved. You will receive a link to re-enter the assessment when you are ready to complete it.

While taking the questionnaire, you will be asked to make a choice between one type of behavior and another. You may feel both apply to you or that neither do. Choose the one that seems to apply more – even if only slightly. Don’t overthink the questions. We encourage you to go with the first instinctual response. The tough choices are part of the design of the instrument and produce accurate results.

Once you receive your profile reflect carefully on the results and speak with your Personalysis Coach to learn more.

What will my assessment be used for?
